How to get the file (Claude.ai)
β οΈ Heads-up: the Claude mobile app has no Export button. You have to go through claude.ai in a browser β but a phone browser works fine, you do NOT need a laptop.
- Open claude.ai in a browser (Safari / Chrome on your phone is fine β just NOT the Claude app)
- Sign in β tap your profile / Settings
- Scroll to Privacy β tap Export data
- Anthropic emails you a zip (usually within an hour)
- On the phone, open the email β tap to download the zip β unzip via the Files app
- Inside the unzipped folder, find
conversations.jsonand tap the button below to pick it
How to get the file (ChatGPT)
β οΈ Same story β the ChatGPT mobile app doesn't expose Export either. Use a browser.
- Open chat.openai.com in a browser (phone browser works β NOT the ChatGPT app)
- Settings β Data Controls β Export data
- OpenAI emails you a zip
- Unzip via your Files app, find
